Phase I

The project aims at working with University students to create future Social Leaders, who could address the challenges that Egypt is facing during its current social and economic transition.

Project implementation:

Theoretical training focusing on social leadership skills
 Field work through internship in Local NGOs.

Achievements:

 

1- 135 students trained


2- 88 female students and 47 male students


3- 95 participants internships in local NGOs and 40 social entrepreneurs


4- fellowship and scholarship opportunities


5-Creating VSL Alumni network


Phase II

Building on the successes of Phase I, and to respond to requests from University students from Minia and Ismailia Governorates to address their unmet needs, DOT proposed to Ford Foundation a Phase II and working in two new Governorates; Gharabia and Sharkia in Delta area.

Project phase II focus and achievements:

 

◦Business enterprise

◦Collaborating with Student Networks Inside Universities

◦Promoting Culture of Small Business

 


Achievements:

 

1- 158 University students trained


2- 95 female students and 63 male students


3- 74 participants internships in local NGOs, 30 Business entrepreneurs, 35 Student Campus activities, 15 Employment


Opportunities, 5 Exchange Opportunities


4- Successful networking strategy serving our follow up planned activities:
